6. The last step will be to lightly blot the stain with either hydrogen peroxide or lemon juice. These are mild bleaching cleaners, so before testing them on the stained area is sure to test them in a small, hidden spot on the carpet first. Then sponge the area with cold water to rinse.
7. When the stain is invincible, pat the carpet with a towel to remove any excess moisture.
